HE'S BACK!!!

At first I thought Harry Hawk was back
the stillness of the squirrels made me look around
and as my eyes scanned the branches of the trees
SMOKERS!
I realized that it might be...could be...
IT IS!
The long- eared owl is back!!!
in my white pine
Oh joy
joy
joy

however....my good camera with the long zoom
well, I let the battery run out!!
so I had to use this old pocket camera
and I had to scatter around the house looking for it
Oh it's sometimes trying to be me
but
joy!

  1. Oh Suz, I am so envious. You are so so so so so so lucky! Who cares if the long zoom didn't work....you got the shot:) That is really exciting. I hope that one day an owl will visit me. I don't care who decides to stop by....Mr. Great Horn or El Sr. Pigmy...we accept all birds here:) Enjoy your Sunday. I'm doing laundry....again.

  2. Suz,
I'm soooo jealous! Owls are my favorite bird and I haven't seen any around for awhile now. When we first moved here we had lots of Barred Owls but I haven't heard them in quite some time.
For Christmas my Mother gave us a sponsored owlet through the Owl Foundation www.theowlfoundation.ca
I'm so happy for you and I hope you see him/her more often.
Thanks for sharing the picture, we can make it out kind fine.

  3. I with the other comments. The owls are my favorite!!! Right now we have 'short eared owls' around and I'm trying to be quick and get a picture of them--What a treat to see and what a good eye to spot one!!

Now, keep that camera battery charged. Opportunity flies in on the wings of readiness.
    What a beauty it was.
