This little fella ran across the deck this morning
unaware that just a few days earlier
he would have been a marked mouse

Truly, I am getting antsy for flowers and dirt
and bees and butterflies
and I can hardly wait for the first robin
and his song
and watching for the Baltimore orioles to drive-by me
along with a warbler or two
So today...I'll settle  for the mouse
and the wee furry joy he gives me

  1. Ah what a cute wee, sleekit, cow’rin, tim’rous beastie, O, what a panic’s in thy breastie. Thou need na start awa sae hasty, Wi’ bickering brattle, I wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee,we' murd'ring pattle, or something like that. Love the photo, love the wee beastie.

    1. oh my....the Queen's english ;)
      what fun
He looks rather big in the photo...but he's really itsy bitsy.....and hurting no one but the squirrels he stole from...glad you like him

  2. Settle for today? Oh, sweetie, that's all we have... that little mouse and the moment.
    Wonderful photo.

    1. I have to settle for him...because I really want the Robins!....but joy is joy
If I dare step off of moments....oh dear it would be not bearable...these present days

  3. That little mouse is cute, but he's oh so close to home:)

    1. ah...he's far enough away......he's outside

leave me a line of joy
