catkins

Among the fury of footprints in the snow
some female alder catkins have fallen
Little pine cone- like beauties
hoping to last into the Spring
to kiss the warming earth and
fulfill their destinies

  3. Jodi...!!! so happy to "see" you again....I love my garden..still no latin names! Just joy seeking
Marilyn...oh we are the same seekers of joy and beauty and oh that precious light! But you have summer now...I just have to tell you..The waitress we had tonight traveled New Zealand by backpack and Asia.....Oh I was jealous listening to her talk about how beautiful your country is...
Sometimes I could weep on how much of life I will never experience
    no guts...just kids
