Here's the stinky mystery plant. It dies back to the ground in the fall and now it is growing at a very fast pace and will reach heights of five feet. It hasn't spread, only gotten to be a wider clump. Do you know what it is?
Looks like a relative of the pigweed family but I don't know it to smell badly....If it IS a weed, I would sure get rid of it before that seed head develops into something invasive. Some weeds are pretty enough to keep so,...if you like it, keep it. Have a great week
Hi Dar, It isn't invasive..I have had it in the garden about 4-5years now and the clump just gets bigger...not anywhere else in the garden so far..and I think I would have had that happen...But I don;t know where it came from...except that years ago we recused plants from a wet land area that was being built on that had been mitigated ....could have come from there....but I don;t know...it is very showy and pretty...but don;'t get close...rotten!
it is a sip of fresh water!
