walking around the garden this morning
the ground covered in wet leaves
I heard an unfamiliar, for here anyway,
the call of a Blue Jay
Do you think it had anything to do with the peanuts
I put out this morning before walking?
How did that rascal spot them so soon?
I followed the sound
and yes, it was a Blue Jay
flying away with his beak full of peanuts
JOY

  1. No it couldn't be the peanuts:) I think it's that Snow White presence that attracts all critters around you as you sing in the garden.:) I love your garden right now. I do the same thing with the food.....I play hide and seek with it and wait to see how long it will take the birds to find it. And I'll tell you....they're pretty good detectives. Speaking of which, I need to get some more birdseed and a hummingbird bird feeder today. I like my coffee in the morning:) But getting motivated afterwards is quite difficult.

  2. Now isn't that something?! I keep putting out peanuts and they keep disappearing BUT I think the crows take mine---I've not YET seen a Blue Jay out there with the peanuts. :/
