This is a volunteer plant. I let it grow to see what it was and it has returned every year for the last 4 years. It is beautiful in the garden with its white cluters of flowers....BUT!!! It stinks....like something rotting. I haven't been able to identify it.
Does anyone know what grows in my garden?
It is a very large plant.....anyone?
Ohmygosh...I had that awful smelling bush in one of my yards years back. Oug...beautiful bush but oh that smell. I know what you mean. I have no idea the name but hold you nose is all I can say.
ReplyDeleteIt's called a Stink Butt Beauty Bush.
ReplyDeleteOkay, no, I have no idea.
It made me laugh though.
Oh, Bethany. You may be kidding but that is really a great name for it.
ReplyDeleteIt IS a good name for it.....pretty but yuck if you get too close! Bethany you sound like your old self!
ReplyDeletei was so excited when I saw 3 comments....somebody knows! oh well...at least somebody does know about it....
Oh, Suz, I hate to ask this, but could you take a closer picture of the leaves and flowers? Or maybe the thought of that smell will be enough to end your curiosity!
ReplyDeleteLesa I posted some more pictures of it...can you tell what it is by clicking on it and enlarging the image?
ReplyDeleteThe flowers and the smell, look and sound like the flowers that come each year from the top of my Mothers palm/yucca type tree? but the leaves are nothing like it. (I have asked my cousin Shelagh (who lives in the US) to check out this post to see if she has any idea?)
ReplyDeleteThank you Susannah
