Delivered Deliverance

She shuffles a long
worn path to her house,
seed catalogues in hand,
hope in her eyes.
Red of poppy,
yellow of yarrow,
pink of dianthus,
blinding the dullness
of this winter day.
Her body bent,
a thin, gray wisp
of  hair falls
across her face
like a cat's tail.

  1. That could be me. I like it. Our daffodils are almost in bloom. Yipee. Can't wait. That is a sure sign of Spring on its way!

  3. I love it!

Especially - "a thin, gray wisp of hair falls
across her face like a cat's tail." - beautiful!

It is icy cold here in England and we had snow yesterday at the moment Spring and Summer seem like a dream.

  6. I'm with Susannah and appreciate the visual picture of "a thin, gray wisp of hair falls
across her face like a cat's tail." Wonderful! Don't you adore garden catalogs...so beautiful, so full of promise and hope.
